Description.

STOA Architects, with its impressive portfolio, is significantly involved in the assessment, design development, construction documents, and construction administration phases of the Mickey Leland International Airport Terminal in Houston, Texas, now recognized as the International Terminal – North Concourse Project.

The 30-year-old terminal building is scheduled to be renovated over the next year as part of the modernization project, and new state-of-the-art facilities will be built. The renovation will improve passenger services, baggage and customs, pre-flight amenities, and gate improvements to accommodate heavier flight traffic and larger carriers. The project also includes an increase in the number of gates with plans for adding additional concourses for a final expansion of up to 15 gates. Once completed by 2025, the modernization project will create a sense of place and symbolize the world-class George Bush Intercontinental Airport as a significant gateway to America, maximizing flexibility for the future and being a critical economic engine for the City of Houston.
