The project also includes an increase in the number of gates with plans for adding additional concourses for a final expansion of up to 15 gates. Once completed by 2025, the modernization project will create a sense of place and symbolize the world-class George Bush Intercontinental Airport as a significant gateway to America, maximizing flexibility for the future and being a critical economic engine for the City of Houston.
