Description.

STOA modernized this tiered classroom at Rice University with upgraded technology, accessibility improvements, and a contemporary learning environment designed for 21st-century instruction.

STOA was selected to renovate a 1960s-era tiered classroom for the Rice University Space Science and Technology Center, transforming the space into a modern, technology-enabled learning environment. The design focused on upgrading audiovisual systems, room controls, and supporting infrastructure to meet current instructional standards. The renovation also addressed building code and accessibility requirements to improve usability for all students and faculty. Through close collaboration with University stakeholders, STOA delivered a flexible, contemporary classroom that supports advanced teaching and research-driven learning.
